From there, we help organize information, prepare questions, coordinate next steps, and ensure patients and families feel informed and supported throughout their care journey.

As registered nurses, we serve as advocates and navigators—not decision-makers. We translate medical information into plain language, help families communicate effectively with care teams, and support safe transitions between settings, always respecting patient autonomy and clinical boundaries. Skylynn, RN is the founder of Clear Sky Care, an RN-led patient advocacy and care navigation service dedicated to helping individuals and families find clarity, safety, and confidence within a complex healthcare system.

Raised in a low-income, single-parent household outside Portland, Oregon, Skylynn learned early what it meant to navigate instability, scarcity, and responsibility. She worked multiple jobs from a young age, paid for her first car herself, and excelled academically as a top student in an International Baccalaureate high school—all while determined to break cycles of violence, addiction, and harm that surrounded her early life. Inspired by watching her mother work nights, holidays, and weekends as a nurse in a skilled nursing facility, Sky recognized nursing as both a reliable path forward and a meaningful way to serve others.

Skylynn earned admission to the University of Portland’s nationally recognized nursing program on a near full-ride scholarship, graduating at the top of her class while also earning a leadership certificate, a minor in Spanish, and building lifelong personal and professional relationships. Her nursing career has spanned high-acuity pediatric care at Seattle Children’s Hospital, emotionally complex fertility care, and specialty women’s health and gynecology—experiences that sharpened her clinical judgment while deepening her empathy. Driven by a commitment to underserved and marginalized communities, Sky pursued advanced training as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner, earning scholarships to Duke University, one of the nation’s leading programs, while balancing full-time clinical work.

It was during this journey that Sky recognized a gap in care: families overwhelmed by medical systems, patients unheard, and transitions where safety often falters. Clear Sky Care was created to meet that need. Through trauma-informed advocacy, education, and coordination, Sky supports families navigating critical healthcare moments—always centering dignity, understanding, and patient wellbeing. Clear Sky Care also represents Sky’s commitment to building the life, stability, and autonomy she once needed herself—while helping others feel less alone in the moments that matter most.
